Kayla Harrison and Cris Cyborg were touted as the two best female fighters outside the UFC. Now the two are caught in a vicious back and forth on Twitter in order to make the other fight them. The fight however is only a distant possibility considering Cyborg will soon be trying to make her professional boxing debut.
Cyborg who built her notoriety in organizations such as The UFC, Invicta ,and Strike Force will be looking to make her boxing debut against Simone Silva, a former Brazilian Nation Boxing Champion, at Fight Music Show. In the past she has accused organizations of protecting their female talent against her with notable examples being Ronda Rousey in the UFC and currently Kayla Harrison.
At a recent interview, Cyborg stated that she feels confident that Harrison is “ducking” her and has lost interest in the fight either way considering Kayla to be unable to sell tickets.

This led to a response from Harrison and subsequently a whole barrage of tweets from both fights calling each other out and laying out accusations. Harrison is a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Judo and just recently made her transition into MMA. At 32, she has a record of 14-0 although her competition has been less than stellar.
To prove her supremacy, Harrison has been campaigning for fights against both Amanda Nunes and Cris Cyborg however none have yielded any result. Responding to Cyborg’s accusations of ducking her, Kayla tweeted, ” Oh the irony” insinuating that in fact it was the other way around.
Cyborg responded to this saying, “What Irony? Your own manager said you can’t sell a PPV. if that isn’t a red flag.” mentioning Ali Abdelaziz’s comments about Kayla not being a needle mover.
