Laker Girl Haley LaRosa enjoyed a fun-filled summer in the Southern Californian sunshine with her friends and family. LaRosa shared highlights from the best moments of the season, including ones of her laying out on a lounger, soaking up the sun in a gray bikini and green hat. Other videos showed her going to sports games and playing with her sweet dog. "Summer Lovin'," she captioned the post. "Summer is the best 🔥❤️," a friend commented. Here's how LaRosa, who is also a certified fitness trainer, stays so fit and full of energy both on season and off.
When she's not dancing at NBA games, LaRosa is busy keeping people motivated as a certified trainer at Barry's Bootcamp. "Three words to describe my teaching style would be energetic, personal, AND incitive," she says. "My classes are challenging, and upbeat so you can expect a challenging class that will have you smiling in the moment and sore the next day. My favorite day of the week is Friday, Full Body, and my playlist genre of choice is throwbacks with a BEAT."
LaRosa does boxing workouts with a sparring partner, which is a great way to build strength. "You're swinging your arms, moving the muscles of your arms and shoulders, increasing your upper-body strength. And when you're in the boxer crouch with a wide stance, with your knees slightly bent, you're strengthening your core muscles, back, and legs," says physical therapist Linda Arslanian.
LaRosa does weight training and uses resistance bands for her workouts, both at home and at the gym. "Barbells and dumbbells are classic strength training tools," says the Mayo Clinic. "If you don't have weights at home, you can use soup cans. Other options can include using medicine balls or kettlebells. Weight machines: Most fitness centers offer various resistance machines. You can invest in weight machines for use at home, too."
LaRosa practices yoga as part of her wellness routine, which is a great way to keep her dancer's physique healthy and limber. "As an osteopathic physician, I focus a lot of my efforts on preventive medicine and practices, and in the body's ability to heal itself," Natalie Nevins, DO, tells the American Osteopathic Association. "Yoga is a great tool for staying healthy because it's based on similar principles."
LaRosa uses CBD oil and a massage gun after workouts to help relieve sore muscles. "Lactic acid builds up in your muscles after exercise or other activity," say the experts at UCLA Health. "This build-up often causes pain and soreness. When you use a massage gun after a workout, the percussion forces muscle fibers to release lactic acid, reducing the soreness you'll feel."
