The Los Angeles Lakers have had tough few months trying to understand ways they could recalibrate and fire back. But it seems like no matter how hard they try to work out a system, the worst always gets to them somehow. In all honesty, the roster has the best talent in the league with players more than capable of leading the team in their own way and the coaching staff working relentlessly to set things straight. But if it does not work out, it simply does not work out.
Before the NBA All-Star Weekend, the Lakers had a day off on February 14th, 2022 which coincidentally happened to be Valentine’s Day. Players definitely had some time to themselves or with loved ones away from the stressful season. Some players even took the opportunity to spend quality time off the court inclusive of their families and partners.
Malik Monk and Anthony Davis were spotted on a double-date on Valentine’s Day
Both Lakers stars, Malik Monk and Anthony Davis were spotted at an Italian Restaurant called Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. Anthony Davis was obviously with his long-time lover and wife Marlen P. The couple have had a daughter together who goes by the name of Nala Davis. However, not much is known about Marlen and her personal life except that the pair met during 2016 or 2017.
Seated on the other side of the table were Monk and his girlfriend, the Australian rapper, Iggy Azalea. Not many have been aware of their relationship as this is the first time the two have been spotted together in public. This is the first time Azalea has been spotted with somebody else ever since her break up with Playboi Carti with whom she had a son with named Onyx.
Preview of the second half of the regular season of the Los Angeles Lakers
This may have been a great thing seeing both players take time to themselves focusing on building a good relationship which could, in turn, work out on the court. However, Davis had suffered a very bad ankle injury forcing him to be out for the next couple of weeks. This again will be a major setback for the Lakers moving into the second half of the season.
The Los Angeles Lakers All-Star was very excited after his team had retained their original roster from the beginning of the season during the trade deadline. Many speculated a possible trade between the Lakers and other teams in order to get rid of Russell Westbrook. But the 6 foot 10 inch forward is very optimistic on working it out with the team in hopes of making it through the play-ins and into the playoffs.
